The Coming Messiah

"The scepter will not depart from Judah or the staff from between his feet until he whose right it is comes, and the obedience of the peoples belong to him.” - Genesis 49:10

On his deathbed, Jacob blessed his twelve sons and foretold the future of their descendants. For Judah he saw a line of kings leading to an ultimate King to whom everyone would owe obedience. This promise was ultimately fulfilled in Jesus - sometimes called "The Lion of Judah" because he was a descendant of Judah. Jesus is truly worthy of our obedience!
